Initial vascular examination

Vascular problems aren’t just a cosmetic issue — they can signal more serious circulatory disorders. Timely examination is key to effective treatment and prevention. Our exams are quick, painless and, thanks to ultrasound, highly accurate. Come and find out the condition of your blood vessels.

How is the initial vascular examination performed?

The initial vascular examination is comprehensive and always tailored to the patient’s specific symptoms. Its aim is to thoroughly assess the condition of the vascular system, especially in the lower limbs. The physician focuses on the function of both the venous and arterial systems, looking for signs of venous insufficiency, varicose veins or phlebitis, and also for possible manifestations of peripheral arterial disease.

The exam begins with an intake interview during which the physician reviews your symptoms — for example swelling, pain, cramps or spider veins — and considers risk factors such as family history, prolonged standing or smoking. This is followed by a clinical examination, where the doctor inspects and palpates the affected limbs. A key part of the assessment is an ultrasound (sonography) — a quick, painless method that accurately maps the patency and condition of veins and arteries. Based on the findings, the physician will recommend the most appropriate course of action: conservative treatment, aesthetic or surgical options, or preventive measures.
