VenaSeal

VenaSeal is a modern, minimally invasive method for treating varicose veins, in which the affected vein is closed using a special medical adhesive. It is an outpatient procedure that does not require anesthesia, heat, or an extended recovery period.

What are the benefits of VenaSeal?

The VenaSeal method for treating varicose veins offers a number of advantages, making it a gentle and comfortable choice. After the procedure, there is no need to wear compression stockings, which greatly facilitates recovery – especially in the summer months. The treatment is painless and does not involve thermal damage to surrounding tissues. The procedure usually takes about 30 minutes, and most patients can return to normal daily activities almost immediately. Thanks to its gentle nature, VenaSeal is associated with a minimal risk of complications.

How does the procedure work?

Both the examination and the procedure are performed under ultrasound guidance. The doctor carefully maps the course of the affected vein and inserts a thin catheter.

As the catheter is slowly withdrawn, a small amount of specialized adhesive is applied, causing the vein to safely and permanently close.

After the catheter is removed, only a small adhesive strip is needed – no stitches and virtually no recovery time. The patient can leave immediately without restrictions and resume everyday activities right away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not sure about something? Here are answers to the most common questions to help you take the first step toward the care you deserve.

VenaSeal treatment is suitable for patients with varicose veins who are looking for a solution without the need to wear compression stockings or undergo thermal ablation. It is also an excellent option for patients allergic to sclerosing agents. However, the doctor will always determine the suitability of the method individually, based on the extent of the disease and the shape of the affected vein.

The procedure usually takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the extent of the affected area.

VenaSeal is an ideal option for patients:

  • who suffer from chronic varicose veins in the lower limbs
  • who cannot or prefer not to undergo a heat-based procedure (laser, radiofrequency) or anesthesia
  • who are allergic to sclerosing agents used in other treatment methods

Don’t want to undergo the procedure under anesthesia?
