It is well known that early indication of cancer significantly increases the chances of successful treatment and allows the use of less invasive methods. Oncomarkers play a crucial role in early detection. What do we mean by these?
Oncomarkers are laboratory-proven biochemical substances that are produced either by the tumour itself or by healthy human tissue in response to the presence of a tumour in the body. These substances are not present at all or only in significantly lower concentrations in a healthy individual. Oncomarkers can detect tumours as small as 1 mg. Our cancer marker tests target specific types of cancer. They are recommended for men over 40 years of age who have a family history of genetic burden or lead an unhealthy lifestyle (smoking, overweight, lack of physical activity, stress).
The tests focus on the following cancers: prostate and testicular, kidney, lung, breast, liver and bile duct, stomach, bladder, pancreatic, colorectal and digestive cancers.
