Neurotraumatology
Neurotraumatology deals with the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of brain and skull injuries, including complications and long-term consequences. At the Vasmedic clinic in Prague, we offer consultations, follow-up examinations and specialized care for patients after head injuries and skull base injuries. Our goal is to ensure a safe recovery, prevent late complications and provide patients with the certainty of proper treatment.
Neurotraumatology at Vasmedic Outpatient Clinic
Head and brain injuries are among the serious conditions that can have long-term consequences. Acute treatment always takes place in the hospital's emergency department, but follow-up care and monitoring of patients also falls under our neurotraumatology outpatient clinic.
What we deal with on an outpatient basis
- consultation of findings after head trauma (CT/MR examination),
- control examinations after concussions, bleeding or contusions,
- monitoring of patients after skull and skull base surgeries,
- diagnosis and treatment of late complications (headaches, epileptic seizures, neurological problems),
- long-term monitoring of patients with the consequences of severe brain injuries,
- advice on returning to normal life, work or sports.
What the outpatient clinic does not cover
- acute brain and skull injuries - always require hospitalization in a traumatology department or ARO/ICU,
- urgent surgical procedures (craniotomy, treatment of bleeding), which are performed by specialized inpatient departments.
Our strengths
- an experienced team of neurosurgeons and neurologists,
- an individual approach,
