Breast ultrasound
Breast ultrasound (professionally breast sonography) is a non-invasive, painless and safe method of examining breast tissue. It is used for the early detection of changes in the breast, such as cysts, benign formations, inflammation or signs of cancer. The examination is performed using high-frequency ultrasound, which allows the imaging of even very small structures.
It is suitable for women of all ages.
An ultrasound examination of the breast will give you certainty without pain and with immediate results.
Breast sonography is a painless and safe examination, in which we use ultrasound to evaluate the structure of the mammary gland and surrounding tissues. It is one of the basic methods of prevention and early diagnosis of breast diseases - especially cysts, benign formations and also malignant tumors in their early stages.
The examination is suitable for all women, regardless of age. In younger patients, where the breast tissue is denser, sonography is even more accurate than mammography. We recommend that it be performed regularly even in women over 40 years of age as a supplement to mammography.
The examination is simple: in a quiet environment of the office, we apply a conductive gel to the skin of the breasts and gradually visualize individual areas with a special probe. The entire examination takes approximately 15 minutes.

Quick booking, experienced team and minimal preparation for the examination
You can book an appointment at Vasmedic in a short time. The examinations are performed by experienced radiologists with modern devices that allow for accurate imaging of even minor changes. Our goal is for you to leave not only with the result, but also with a sense of security.
There is no need to come to the examination on an empty stomach. We only recommend avoiding the use of body lotion, oils or deodorant in the breast and armpit area. The most suitable time for sonography is the period between the 6th and 12th days of the menstrual cycle, when the breasts are naturally softer, but this is not a necessary condition.
When to book a breast sonography?
- during a preventive check-up (ideally once a year)
- if you have a family history of breast cancer
- when you feel a lump or other change
- in case of long-term pain or discharge from the nipple
