MUDr. Alena Hrubeš Krajčoviechová, PhD.

Top cardiologist with experience from IKEM, the Centre for Cardiovascular Prevention of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and FTN, and a number of leading clinics. She has completed internships in Canada, Scotland, France and other countries. Her scientific work in the field of cardiology is also appreciated. She has authored and co-authored a number of articles in national and international impact factor journals. She received awards for the best published original work in the field of arterial hypertension (Czech Society for Hypertension) in 2019 and 2021 and in the field of atherosclerosis (Czech Society for Atherosclerosis) in 2017.

MUDr. Alena Hrubeš Krajčoviechová studied at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University in Brno, and postgraduate studies at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague.

She completed academic internships and training programmes abroad, for example in Grenoble, France, Glasgow, Scotland and Montreal, Canada.

She has participated in a number of research projects:

  • Czech Post-MONICA Study - a study looking at the prevalence and incidence of risk factors for cardiovascular disease; a project awarded the 2010 Minister of Health Award for Health Research and Development.
  • ESH Stroke Survey - secondary prevention and prognosis of patients after stroke; project awarded the Minister of Health Award for Health Research and Development for 2015.
  • CARTaGENE Study - prevalence and incidence of chronic diseases in a randomly selected Quebec population sample (Canada).

She is an active member of the Czech Society of Cardiology, the Czech Society of Hypertension and the Czech Society of Atherosclerosis.
